The United States is a land of opportunity

The United States is a land of opportunity. You get to see individuals from all totally different parts of the world, together, living in one country. We have freedom, equality and justice. The U.S. has achieved greater social equality than any other country and provides a good life for the ordinary person. However, the world is not perfect, and just like any other country, The United States has problems too.
The United States is typically remarked as the best country in the world and it may be, but far from education. U.S, students’ academics achievement still lags that of their peers in several other countries. In 2015, with the most recent PISA results, the U.S. was placed at an unimpressive 38th out of 71 countries in math and 24th in science. America’s education is failing because of the large emphasis on standardized education. Parents have a very large impact on their child’s education, which can lead parents to blame on an insufficient education system. Without parents emphasizing education, a student is less likely to excel. The Metlife study of an American teacher says “it can pressure the student to do well and meet expectations.” There are significant declines in the percentage of parents and teachers reporting that many parents take too little interests in their children’s education and fail to motivate them. The No Child Left Behind act was passed and the U.S fell from 18th to 31st in the math section of the PISA. Standardized education limits a child’s potential and ability, whereas trying to bring everybody at the same level.
