Plato who born around 427 BC in Athens to a Nobel family and was a philosopher and educator in ancient Greece and founder of the Academy. He was one of the most important thinkers and writers in the history of Western culture. Plato was born during the golden age of Athen’s which saw the birth of classical architecture, drama, arts, and politics. As he was growing up he observed the decline of Athens as a cultural centre. He witnessed cruelty, disloyalty, and dishonesty and it was in clear violation of his values
He also watched a disease that damaged Athens by killing one-third of the population and at around the same time the religious Peloponnesian War started between Athens and Sparta and continued until Plato was twenty years old, which led to the endless political power and the fall of the Athenian Empire.
