Newly Appointed Inspector General of Police Punjab Amjad Javed Saleemi assumed the Charge on 15-10-18
Amjad Javed Saleemi newly-appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab, Amjad Javed Saleemi, took charge of his office on 14-10-18.On his arrival at the Central Police Office (CPO), Lahore; police officers gave him a sincere welcome. A police squad from the CPO Lahore office presented with a guard of honor. The IGP presided over a meeting of police officers at the CPO and Media as well. The provincial police chief underlined that all the officers would deliver him full assistance so that he could achieve the proficient accountabilities in an improved manner. While, before newly appointed IG Amjad Javed Saleemi Muhammad Tahir remained Inspector General of Police for a short period of time (11.09.2018 to 15.10.2018). Muhammad Tahir served as Inspector General of Punjab Police only for One month. Before this Amjad Javed Saleemi was the Inspector General of Police Sindh during the period of Caretaker Government. After passing the MSc engineering degree he joined the Police Services of Pakistan in 1986 as Assistant Superintendent of Police. He also served as 15th CCPO of Lahore.
Furthermore, while talking to press media conference that he said digital media has a comprehensive role over controlling the situation of Law & Order. In fact, Media presenting his role as watchdog. He said that Police will try to perform in a better suit. We will try to bring such reforms regarding service delivery. We will make better policies to overcome the crime rate. He told our Special focus will be on Public Service Delivery, Registration of First Information Report and Internal Accountability.
