Comparison of the Practices and Strategies Utilized in the Korean and Vietnam Wars

Two of the greatest battles which were fought by similar foes werethose of the Korean and Vietnamese wars. Both conflicts involved a”communist” and “capitalist” participant(s) which had their own idealsand reasons for why to include themselves into such conflicts. Thereare also other similarities other than the opponents in these wars,such as the military tactics and strategies which were effectuatedduring this time. In both cases, the U.S. intervened forcefullyintroducing large masses of militia and using a considerable amount ofarmament, yet on the other hand, their enemies were supported by theirallies throughout the duration of both conflicts and succeededmilitarily against the democratic forces.

Both the Korean and the Vietnamese wars had several things in commonin terms of the practices and strategies used during these conflictsas well as some aspects which were distinct. The two communist foes inthe wars developed guerrilla type warfare and utilized it in a veryeffective matter against their enemy which lead to even more pressurefrom both sides of the conflict. Both L.B. Johnson and Nixon said “I’mnot going to be the first President to lose a war,” showing an exampleof the extreme opposition which the Americans encountered in the Asianwars.
