Analysis of George Orwell?s Animal Farm Essay

one of the leaders of the Soviet Union. Joseph Stalin like Napoleon was not a good speaker, cared deeply about power, and he killed all that opposed him. They both were extremely great at promising wonderful lies. One huge conflict that I discovered while reading this novel is over power, the human beings versus the animals on the farm and later in the story the animals versus the other animals. The animals and the humans are always fighting each other. The pigs were trying to convince other animals not to take orders from the humans. Old Major which was the original creator of the animal revolution says “Man is the only real enemy we have. Remove Man from the scene, and the root cause of hunger and overwork is abolished forever”. Old Major basically is the one who in my opinion created the idea of all humans being their major problem. Old Major also says “There, comrades, is the answer to all our problems. It is summed up in a single word- Man”. This is a perfect example of how he strongly believes that their life would be much better without human beings. He continues to try to convince the animals how terrible humans are by saying “Man is the only creature who consumes without producing. He does not give milk, he does not lay eggs, he is too weak to pull the plough, he cannot run fast enough to catch rabbits. Yet he is lord of all animals”. Old Major sang this song to the farm animals “Beasts of England! Beasts of Ireland! Beasts of land and sea and skies! Hear the hoof beats of tomorrow! See the golden future rise! How does the life of an animal pass? In endless drudgery. What’s the first lesson an animal learns? To endure its slavery. How does the life of an animal end? In cruel butchery. Beasts of England! Beasts of Ireland! Beasts of land and sea and skies! Hear the hoof beats of tomorrow! See the golden future rise! Now the day of beasts is coming, Tyrant man shall lose his throne And the shining fields of England Shall be trod by beasts alone. Pull the rings from out your noses Tear the saddle from your back! Bit and spur must rust forever; cruel whips no more shall crack. Beasts of England seize the prizes, Wheat and barley, oats and hay, Clover, beans and mangle wurzel shall be ours upon that day”. Soon after, Old Major passes away but this song had a strong impact on the other farm animals to continue what he wanted to do, which was the Rebellion against human beings. All animals at this point realize that they have been nothing to humans but subject to extremely strict and tremendous harsh treatment and they all want to have a rebellion for a more better and equal society. Later, the animals found the owner of the farm Mr. Jones drunk, so they took the opportunity to ram sack the food supply and when the animals heard the Men coming they attacked them and scared them off. That’s when the animals had full control and they b…

…he beginning the pigs start out as animals who have no more power than any other animal on the farm, and they all have the same ideas. The animals create order and freedom, and then happiness is no longer enough. Shortly after, Napoleon takes the spot light and takes charge along with the other pigs. He argues that dishonesty becomes present within the environment and their ideas and their views are all different. In this story the animals send away the unkind humans out of the farm, and change the name of their home from Manor Farm to Animal Farm. George Orwell embodies the Russian corruption of communism into the pigs upon the farm. Mr. Jones was irresponsible to his animals by letting them starve, and very cruel by beating them with whips. He was compared to Czar Nicholas II who was a poor leader compared to the western kings, and also a cruel man who was brutal to his opponents. The pig who was named Old Major taught animalism which was compared to Karl Marx beliefs in communism. All animals were equal in Animalism, they had no owners, they were not rich nor were they poor and workers received a better life. In Communism all people were equal, the government owned everything and the people owned the government. Napoleon is the pig on the farm that wants all the power after the humans are kicked out. He was not a good speaker; he killed his opponents and used certain animals to control other animals on the farm.
