This is admittedly an awkward question for me to answer. I don’t spend a whole lot of time thinking about what I like about myself, but rather, all of the things about me that need fixing!If pressed, I’d have to say that my favorite thing about myself is that I reinvent myself as needed. I don’t buy into the sunk cost fallacy.
I don’t operate under the assumption that everything will be okay if I just try harder. I’m always looking far, far down the line to determine if what I’m doing right now will take me to the path I need to be on 20 or 30 years from now.So I’m pretty good at cutting bait at the right time, thereby limiting my future liabilities. I haven’t double-downed into any inescapable situations or scenarios where I end up with a lot of baggage. The stupidest thing I’ve ever done is buy real property and put my now-ex-husband on the deed when I was very unsure of the state of our marriage (in all fairness to myself, I was still young and didn’t know any better). But thanks to the courts, I winnowed out of that jam.So I am still at a point I was when I was in my early 20s—a fairly clean slate.
