In my next paragraph i would like to introduce, what is effective communication in nursing practice. Effective therapeutic communication is defined as the face to face process of interacting, that focuses on advance in the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Nurses use their communication in such a way that it will be benefit to their patient. To be a successful nurse requires excellent communication skills. The ability to communicate with and connect with patients can help build relationships, avoid mistakes, and deliver greater levels of care.

Communication is a dynamic process in which communicators are constantly sending and receiving information and, in order for communication to be effective, the information sent must be received as intended (Grover, 2005). For this reason, nurses have an in-depth understanding of the talents that enable effective communication and knowledge to use them consistently. Such skills support active listening, expressing sympathy, empathy and effective verbal and nonverbal communication. For nurse-patient relationship, the roles of sender(Nurse) and receiver(patient) are shared and information is exchanged through both verbal and nonverbal messages.

In turn, the use of communication skills affects the effectiveness of this process, subsequently allowing the formation of therapeutic relationships (Grover, 2005).
