The movie is about the story of Annie Sullivan’s struggles in teaching a deaf, blind, and mute girl named Helen Keller. When Helen Keller was only 19 months old, she contracted an unknown disease described by the doctors at the time as “an acute congestion of the stomach and brain, which might have been scarlet fever or meningitis.
The illness left her both deaf and blind.Ever since her illness has taken place, she hasn’t communicated with her family. She frequently throws tantrums to get a piece of candy just to be quiet for a while. Her parents condone her actions. She can get her own food by getting it from the plates of others using her bare hands.
All of this is with the pity looks of her family relatives.
