The Crash Essay

The boy in the front passenger seat of the car looked out the window to his left, fascinated by the flashes of light that illuminate the dark skies every few minutes, allowing him to catch a glimpse of the roiling, turbulent ocean just a small distance away, and the narrow, winding road they were currently on.

He released a small sigh, still a tad bit upset that he had to leave his friend’s house so soon. He wanted to stay longer and play with his best friend, who was two years older than himself, even if the other boy was full of himself. He only knew because the other boy proudly announced that he would be turning nine in a few months. He, himself would be turning seven, though his small frame looked like it belonged to a five years old.

He peered to his right, past the driver – his dad. He could barely make out the side of the jagged mountain that he knew was there, as they had already driven through this pass earlier in the day.

Eyes tired from straining to see, the boy rubbed them and let out a loud yawn. Hearing that, his dad glanced at him, smiling softly at the cuteness that is his son.

“Getting sleepy there, shounen?”

“M’not sleepy,” the boy obstinately replied, his lower lip sticking a tad bit out, even as his eyelids started to droop, causing his daddy to chuckle.

The boy’s eyes jerked open at the screech of car tires. He felt the car spinning, the sudden motion causing his upper body to be thrown to the side, his head banging on the window with a sickening crack and he felt something wet slid down the side of his head and down the curve of his left cheek. Darkness crept through his vision, and it had nothing to do with how dark it was outside. He gasped, trying to stay awake, trying to scream for his…

…hizen-san, would you please come on in.”

A boy about 165 cm walked in, dressed in the school’s uniform. A standard white dress shirt tucked into a pair of navy blue pants, a light blazer in the same color of the pants was worn over the white shirt, with a light blue, deep black striped tie, loosely tied around his neck, the color of the tie indicating he was a second year student. This should be obvious since the room were full of second year students; however, most have a hard time wrapping their heads around it, as the boy didn’t look like he should be out of elementary school!

His body was small, lean and lithe, his dark hair brushing against his shoulders, glinting a forest green color under the fluorescent lighting. His eyes were an eerie golden color, almost like a cat, except they were not slitted, the corners curved up a bit, giving him an exotic look.
