Oprah is one of the wealthiest person and is a major force to pop culture. Oprah has won many awards for her shows and work as a philanthropist. She is known as the first African-American to host a successful talk show for more than two decades. She have’s a lot of courage even though she was abused and was able to overcome her obstacles still manages to have a positive impact on the world. She has Courage, Determination ; Assertiveness; she also possesses being “Inspirational, Humanist, Relatable & Emotionally Intelligent”. She is also a good leader because she isn’t afraid of being herself, “she stands out and tries to make a change in the world, and she doesn’t turn her back on anyone, and she also doesn’t forget where she come from”. Oprah is a good leader and with the help of her determination she is known as an influential woman who strives to see change in the world and help other people.
Oprah was in born in January 29, 1954 in Kosciusko, Mississippi on a farm to Vernita Lee, an unmarried teenage girl. After she was born her mother traveled north and she lived six years in rural poverty with her grandma. When she was six years old she and her mother moved to an inner-city neighborhood in Milwaukee, Wisconsin who was now less supportive and encouraging because of the large hours she has worked as a maid. Lee was having a hard time raising two daughters, so Winfrey temporarily lived with her father and while she was away her mother gave birth to a third daughter who was put up for adoption who later name Patricia; when she moved back to her mother’s house Lee gave birth to Jeffery who died in 1989 of AIDS. She first when to school in Lincoln High School but because of her Upward Bound success she was transferred to Nicolet High School.
