Even though most of the asean countries are still not developed that much the ASEAN members which joined a while after asean was founded were in a very weak state and joined ASEAN to get support and aid from other countries to grow their state. ASEAN focuses mostly on economic cooperation and promotion of trade amongst the countries of ASEAN and internationally. However they also aid each other in research and training facilities. They also assist each other on issues in areas such as cultural, technical economic, social, technical administrative and scientific work this way they can use the information they each have and find something new and use this knowledge to help their country.
