The Jewish people joined Esther on a 3 day fast, which led to God saving them.
Esther went to the king and told him of Hanan’s plot to kill the Jews and the king ordered for the hanging of Hanan on the same gallows that had been prepared for Mordecai (Esther 7:9). Esther also received Hanan’s estate (Esther 8:1).God has a plan for our lives. God loved the Jewish people and created Esther’s beauty and finesse, which resulted to placing of Esther in a royal position (Esther 4:14). Through the story of Esther, we learn that God gives us divine moments that can influence our situations.

God’s timing is divine for believers. Esther’s divine moment was when she accepted the role of going to the king (Esther 4:16). The book of Esther also teaches us to be strong and courageous always. Esther went to see the king even though it was against the law and was ready for any consequences (Esther 4:16). Esther was willing to die to save her people.
Another lesson we learn from the book of Esther is to be persistent in fasting and prayer. As believers, we should continuously fast and pray even when times are difficult. God places people in specific situations at specific times to accomplish His desired will. Mordecai who was Esther’s cousin told Esther to approach the king.
The king then ordered for the hanging of Hanan. From this, we learn that everything and everyone is subject to God (Hebrews 2:8). We should be ready to surrender to the will of God. What We Learn About God from the Book of Esther That Never Mentions His NameThe book of Esther never mentions God. This is used to show how God works in divine ways behind scenes (Lennox, 2009). Even though God was not mentioned, he was responsible for every happening. Gods providence is manifested all through the story.
God redeemed Esther and her people through faith and courage. Everything that happened was to deliver the Jewish people (Lennox, 2009). Although the book of Esther does not mention God, it reveals God at work.
His name is not in the book but his works are all over in the deliverance of the Jews in Persia. The silence of God does not mean his absence. Through the fasting of Esther, we see the recognition and acknowledgement of God (Esther 4:15-16). All scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and, for training in righteousness (2nd Timothy 3:16). As believers, we should believe in the word of God even when it never mentions God. Significance of the Jewish Festival of PurimThe festival of Purim is a Jewish holiday that commemorates the saving of the Jewish people from Hanan, who was planning to kill all the Jews during the time of Esther. God saved the Jewish community from death.
This resulted to a spiritual revival among the Jews (Lennox, 2009). The celebration of the festival of Purim reminds believers of the story of Esther and the need to be strong and courageous in times of trouble (Lennox, 2009). It also teaches believers on the importance of prayer and fasting. Esther declared a 3-day fast and the Jewish community joined her (Esther 4:16). Prayer and fasting is important to every believer and should be practiced regularly. Another significance of the Purim festival is that God is always in control even though sometimes we do not see him working in our lives.
