Essay On Street Racing Laws

Road safety is a top priority. Street racing kills many people every year. It is not just the driver who gets injured. Onlookers, pedestrians and the other passengers in the car can be killed. Speeding Costs you a fine, your Licence and even your vehicle.
Drivers who participate in a “street race,” “driving contest,” or “driving stunt” on an Ontario roadway will face an immediate 7 day licence suspension, 7 day vehicle impoundment (regardless if the offender owns the vehicle or not). Upon conviction offenders will face a minimum fine between $200 and $2,000, a maximum fine between $1,000 and $10,000, a court ordered licence suspension, 2 years for a first conviction, 10 years for a second conviction. Drivers traveling more than 50 km/h above the posted speed limit are considered to be performing a stunt and are subject to all of the above penalties. Before taking part in street racing you must realize what is at stake, because you may end up in jail, or even worse, dead.

Essay On Aggressive Driving

Aggressive driving can cost you a ticket, or your life. Aggressive driving is the operation of a motor vehicle in an unsafe and hostile manner without regard for others. Aggressive driving behavior may include: making frequent or unsafe lane changes, failing to signal or yield the right of way, tailgating and disregarding traffic controls. When driving you must realize that you are not the only driver on the road. You must be aware and be safe. The most common aggressive driving actions that contribute to accidents are speeding, failure to yield the right of way, careless, erratic or reckless driving, failure to obey traffic signals or signs, improper turns, improper passing and improper following (tailgating). Drivers can be fined up to $200 for each moving violation associated with aggressive driving, including speeding, and could end up spend time in jail. Many people do not realize that you can get a ticket for aggressive driving. Before becoming aggressive you need to realize what you can lose.

Essay On Demerit Point System

A demerit point system is one in which a driver’s licensing authority, police force, or other organization issues cumulative demerits, or points to drivers on conviction for road traffic offenses. Points can either be added or subtracted, depending on the particular system in use. Everyone starts with zero points and gain points for being convicted of breaking certain traffic laws. Demerit points stay on your record for two years from the offence date. If you collect enough points, you can lose your driver’s licence. Certain driving offences increase demerit points. If you accumulate 100 or more demerit points in any two-year period, your licence can be suspended for three months. Demerit points are put in place so there are consequences when you break the law. The more demerit points you accumulate the worse the consequences may be.

3. Who Causes Collisions

Inexperience

Driving while being inexperienced can cause many problems. It is important that you know how to drive, know the rules of the road and know how to properly abide by them before u begin to drive. Learning to drive demands a lot of practice before expert levels are reached. Inexperienced drivers need all their attention on the road, and cannot cope with additional tasks adequately, such as turning on the radio, or talking to a passenger. This limitation becomes highly visible in demanding and unexpected situations.

Inattention

One of the most important things while driving is attention. While driving your full attention needs to be on the road, nowhere else. Not on other passengers, the radio, your phone, or other distractions. Inattention can cause collisions. By going on your phone or turning your head around to talk to another passenger a collision can be created in seconds. To avoid accidents due to inattention some tips could be to use a hands free device to talk on your phone and telling passengers to not make too much noise and not be distracting so you are safe while driving.

Inconsideration

Inconsideration while driving can cause accidents and get you in trouble. While driving you need to realize that you are not the only one on the road. Other drivers are all around you. Some examples of inconsiderate driving are, driving far under the speed limit, not using your signals, not giving way on a roundabout, ignoring traffic lights, using your phone while driving and cutting people off. Being considerate while driving is important because it shows that you are a good driver, and keeps everyone safe.

Impatience

Patience is a key factor while driving. Making sure you are patient while driving can saves others lives and yours. Some examples of being impatient are, running red lights, speeding, weaving in and out of traffic, going around traffic that has stopped for pedestrians, tailgating and talking and texting on a mobile device while driving. All of these examples can lead to accidents, tickets or even death. To avoid that, remembering to be patient can save your life and other peoples.
