Employment tribunal fees of up to £1

Employment tribunal fees of up to £1,200 were introduced by the government to cut the number of malicious and weak cases in 2013 but in July 2017, the Supreme Court rules it unlawful for the government to charge a fee on employment discrimination claim. As it is established on the graph, the analysis has shown that there was a significant fall of over 50% on discrimination claims in England on sex, disability, race, religion, and sexual orientation since 2012/13. Even though the fee introduction by the tribunal seems to have achieved its aim, it is also argued that government statistics showed 79% fewer cases were brought over three years because the fee which could not allow workers to access justice.
