Canada and Denmark have been fighting over Hans island over 30 years or 3 decades by leaving bottles of alcohol. Since the early 1930s, Hans island has been at the center of a disagreement between Canada and Denmark. Hans Island is located in the middle of the 22-mile wide Nares Strait, which separates Greenland, a territory of Denmark, from Canada. According to the international law, all countries have the right to claim it within 12 miles of their shore. Hans Island is technically located in both Danish and Canadian waters. And since then, the two countries have carried “whiskey war” over Hans Island.
