Amarna Art

Amarna Art: The Art of Religious Reform in the Era of 18th Dynasty Pharaoh Amenhotep IV (1358 BC) during the New Kingdom of Egypt. Because of this dynasty’s capital located in central Aktion, Egypt, now Egypt’s Amarna named. Many of the traditional laws of Egyptian carving were broken in this period of art, emphasizing that art should be freed from the idealistic performance of the past and the true portrayal of people and the world around them. The famous “Statue of Ehna” (ie, the image of Pharaoh Amenhotep IV) and Queen Eljeedon, “Queen Nefertiti” is a famous masterpiece. It is a pity that the reforms in Echernun have been opposed by conservative forces. Shortly after his death, the reforms were abolished and Egyptian art returned to the old path.
