Air Papan is located at seaside with a 3km long beach (Pantai Air Papan) that is in between the hills (15km north of Mersing). As the hills of Air Papan are spotted of variety of flora and trees. As for the beach, it is a popular gateway, especially during weekends for local families and it is a normal sight to see a lots of picnic mats that are laid out while childrens are running near the seaside.
Papan Air Papan is consider as cultural landscape due to its location that are in Malay-populated area. However, since it is a malay-populated area, women in bikinis at the beach is prohibited and also considered as disrespectful too.
