According to Fentahun

According to Fentahun, Assefa, Alemseged, & Ambaw (2012), “Sex education is described as education about human sexual anatomy, sexual reproduction, sexual intercourse, reproductive health, emotional relations, reproductive rights and responsibilities, abstinence, contraception, family planning, body image, sexual orientation, sexual pleasure, values, decision making, communication, dating, relationships, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and how to avoid them, and birth control methods”. Sex education helps people gain the information, skills and motivation to make healthy decisions about sex and sexuality. A research report by Kantor & Levitz (2017) states that a vast majority of Americans support comprehensive sex education in public schools. The type of sex education received in American public schools, however, varies greatly. On the other hand, the need for comprehensive and effective sex education for young people in developing is dif?cult to overstate. For the implementation of sex education in high schools to be successful, the active participation of all stakeholders cannot be underestimated.
